My name is Sneha Kaur Kamboj and I am a rising sophomore at Washington High School. I am passionate about music and have been singing for 8 years. I also learn Indian classical string instruments, including the dilruba and sitar, from renowned Professor Dalbir Singh. With his mentorship, I have had the opportunity to perform at various Kirtan (devotional singing) competitions. Music provides a way for me to calm my mind and bring myself to a peaceful place. As a teacher assistant at Fremont Gurdwara Sahib, I hope to guide other students through this fulfilling journey of learning music.
Aside from music, some of my hobbies include playing sports, my favorites being basketball and volleyball. I also love to cheer on the Golden State Warriors and the USA Women’s National Volleyball Team. In my free time, I enjoy reading fiction books, going to amusement parks, and spending time at the beach with my family and friends.
Ever since I was in third grade, I have been going to the Fremont 4th of July Parade and always look forward to seeing the decorative floats and annual flyover. I also love volunteering with my local Sikh community to distribute water bottles at the parade. I am beyond excited to be singing the National Anthem in front of my city this year!
