Parade Special Guests!

2022 Guests of Honor

We proudly announce some great additions to our parade:

  • Sal Castaneda is an American Emmy award-winning journalist, anchor and reporter who serves as the traffic reporter and anchor, for Fox television affiliate KTVU Channel 2 in San Francisco Bay Area since 1999. In January 2015, he began a new gig as a co-host the "The Nine," a fun and entertaining news show put on by KTVU. Castaneda is also a general assignment news reporter for the noon and evening newscasts.

  • Founded in 1999, the Fremont Family Resource Center (FRC) innovatively combines the best efforts of more than 20 State, County, City and Non-Profit social service organizations working to build a vibrant Tri-City community with strong, healthy individuals, families and children. An unexpected personal crisis can hit anyone, anytime and trigger a cascade of needs. Services and education at the FRC enable families and individuals to regain control of their own futures.

  • My name is Sneha Kaur Kamboj and I am a rising sophomore at Washington High School. I am passionate about music and have been singing for 8 years. I also learn Indian classical string instruments, including the dilruba and sitar, from renowned Professor Dalbir Singh. With his mentorship, I have had the opportunity to perform at various Kirtan (devotional singing) competitions. Music provides a way for me to calm my mind and bring myself to a peaceful place. As a teacher assistant at Fremont Gurdwara Sahib, I hope to guide other students through this fulfilling journey of learning music.

Aside from music, some of my hobbies include playing sports, my favorites being basketball and volleyball. I also love to cheer on the Golden State Warriors and the USA Women’s National Volleyball Team. In my free time, I enjoy reading fiction books, going to amusement parks, and spending time at the beach with my family and friends.

Ever since I was in third grade, I have been going to the Fremont 4th of July Parade and always look forward to seeing the decorative floats and annual flyover. I also love volunteering with my local Sikh community to distribute water bottles at the parade. I am beyond excited to be singing the National Anthem in front of my city this year!
